Contribution to the War of Liberation: Chief of Air Staff receives reception for India-Russia heroes !!
Air Chief Marshal Abu Esraar, Chief of the Air Force, accorded a warm welcome to 40 veteran fighters of India and Russia's armed forces participating in the Great War of Bangladesh. The reception was held on Sunday (December 17th) at BAF Falcon.
Leader of the Indian delegation led by Lieutenant General (retd) Bhagwan Singh Yadav and Captain (retd) Stanislav Gorbachev led the Russian team. India and Russia's Defense Attashers were present in the reception.
Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Abu Esarar remembered the contribution of India and Russia's armed forces during the Great War of 1971 and gave a memento to the heroic fighters of India and Russia. On behalf of them, the head of the Air Force was given a memento.
Note that India and Russia's delegation came to Bangladesh on 14th December at the invitation of the Bangladesh government to celebrate the Great Victory Day-2013. During the visit, they attended various events of the Victory Day.-ISPR
