The deceased in the name of marriage with the expatriate, arrested with the young women
Police have arrested a young girl and her parents for allegedly accepting 26 million taka by arranging marriage dramas with Saudi expatriates through video conferencing. They were arrested from Malacha village in Panchbibi upazila on Tuesday night.
The arrestees are - Emdadul Haque, 57, a resident of Malancha village in Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat, his wife Rubina Begum and their daughter Shabnam Mostari Ami.
Panchbibi Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Farid Hossain said that the identity of Kazi Harun Sagar, Saudi expatriate youth, is the son of Kazi Ayatollah, a resident of Dakshachhar Mohana village under Raipur upazila of Laxmipur with Facebook. Later, in the 4 years of the marriage through video conferencing through mobile conferencing, Western Union and Development from Saudi Arabia, through the expatriate Kazi Harun Sea, took more than 26 lakhs more money.
On December 15, Ami and her parents refused to marry the alleged in-laws of village Malancha in Panchbibi upazila. Later, the provocative expatriate Kazi Harun Sagar filed a case with the Panchbibi police station. The police arrested them from their house as the charges were proved in the initial investigation.
